Guard missile cruiser Moskva headed by Capt 1 rank Sergei Tronev continues performing tasks of interfleet cruise from Pacific to Black Sea fleets, reports Capt 1 rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev, spokesman for Black Sea Fleet Commander.

The cruise has entered the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal the day before yesterday. Naval cadets as trainees on board the ship got unique opportunity to familiarize with navigational characteristics of the Suez canal; future navigators practiced professional skills. Navigating officer Capt. Lt. Yakovlev took up a heavy burden of work, but successfully completed the given tasks and was distinguished by Capt 1 rank Igor Smolyak, the cruise commander.

Igor Smolyak also complimented on engineering department under command of Capt 2 rank Viktor Duma, congratulated the crew on termination of another cruise phase, assigned tasks for nearest future, and directed the crew on successful completion of the interfleet cruise. By the way, the ship has not conducted such cruises since her launching.

During the shipborne drills started in the Mediterranean Sea, helicopter aircrews practiced in searching and rescuing of a man overboard.

Moskva is going to pass through the Black Sea straits on Sept 3.

It remains to add that the ship's homeport Sevastopol is impatient to see the BSF flagship and going to arrange a warm meeting to the crew.
