New test launch of submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) Bulava will be carried out within the period of Sept 9-12, reports RIA Novosti referring to a source in defense industry.

The Bulava tests had been suspended with the view to puzzle out the reasons of faulty launches. First test launch in 2010 was scheduled in early Aug, although was postponed to check entire process flow of Bulava production. According to another version, the putting-off was caused by wild fires.

"Everything is ready to resume trials. Northern Fleet (NF) missilemen and submariners stand by waiting for an order. I guess the launch won't be postponed this time", said the source. If the test is successful, at least 2-3 launches will be held till the year is over, he added.

It was previously reported that the latest Bulava test launch failed because of manufacturing defect.

So far, only 5 out of 12 launches were found successful.
