Shipbuilders delivered a new ship to Pacific Fleet (PF) on Friday – a new generation Serna-type landing craft, reported RIA Novosti citing a representative of PF press service.

"The solemn delivery ceremony was held on Friday, then the Russian Navy ensign – St. Andrew's flag – was hoisted over the ship", said the interviewee.

The new fast-speed boat will join PF landing ships force stationed in the Strelok Bay.

"Shipwrights of Vostochnaya Verf shipyard has been cooperating with Pacific Fleet for many years. The yard builds, upgrades, and repairs PF warships which are in service at eastern frontiers of our country", said the official.

Vostochnaya Verf has built several ships for security agencies. A new patrol ship joined Frontier Service Coast Guard in Apr 2010. That was the fifth ship built by Vostochnaya Verf shipyard (Vladivostok) for eastern frontiersmen.
