Having completed the program of visit, Black Sea Fleet (BSF) large landing ship Yamal left Montenegrin port Bar on Oct 14.
Last days of the Russian warship's visit to Montenegro were full of notable events.
Yamal hosted Montenegrin president Filip Vujanović; honor guard paraded and 21-shot gun salute was rendered in honor of the top-ranking guest. BSF Orchestra played national anthems of Montenegro and the Russian Federation.
Along with locals who were allowed to board
Yamal during her port stay, Metropolite Montenegrin Amphilohy also visited the ship, greeted Russian mariners, wished them good health and success in their service.
Ukrainian, Austrian, Turkish ambassadors and Montenegrin foreign minister Ramiz Basic attended the concert of BSF Orchestra by invitation of Russian ambassador to Montenegro Yakov Gerasimov.
Russian ambassador highly appreciated the call of Russian warship at the port of Bar "while Russo-Montenegrin relations in contemporary history are being constructed".
Terminating the official visit, cruise commander Capt 1 rank Igor Smolyak thanked local port and town authorities, as well as command of Montenegrin Navy for the opportunity to visit town of Bar, warm and hospitable approach.
During the stay, Russian warship was visited by 500 locals; that was an unprecedented fact in the country with overall population of somewhat 600,000.
