Security in the Baltic to be discussed in St. Petersburg

Session of Baltic Frontier Committee will be held in St. Petersburg on Wed; the subject is operational data exchange among North European countries, reports regional branch of Russian FSB Frontier Service.

Representatives of Russian Coast Guard Dept, Northwest Customs Bureau, experts of national frontier authorities and coast guards of Baltic countries (Russia, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Estonia) will attend the session of Baltic regional security conference to be held under Russia's chairmanship. Participation of observers and representatives of European Commission, EU agency Frontex, and Nord Stream company is also expected.

They will discuss the list of standard situations related to naval security in the Baltic Sea and joint operational response; cooperation among frontier services and coast guards in security of construction and functioning of "Nord Stream" gas pipeline will be considered as well, said the press release.
