Pacific Fleet (PF) missile boat has successfully launched cruise missile Moskit in the Sea of Japan and hit dummy surface target, reported RIA Novosti citing Capt 1 rank Roman Martov, press-secretary of PF Commander.

"The missile was launched in the high sea on Friday under combat training program; however, inspectors analyzed activities of the crew only on Monday", said the interviewee.

According to him, the firing participated in the contest for Navy Commander's Prize.

Martov reminded that one day earlier PF nuclear submarine Svyatoi Georgy Pobedonosets launched ballistic missile from the Sea of Okhotsk against Chizha Range (the White Sea). The missile was launched from underwater position.

Almost at the same time Northern Fleet SSBN Bryansk successfully launched ballistic missile Sineva from the Barents Sea against Kura Range, Kamchatka. Bryansk also performed firing from underwater position. Both Northern and Pacific fleets had completed their tasks, since the missiles successfully hit dummy targets.
