Export variant of newest Russian Project 22356 ocean-going multipurpose frigate was firstly presented by United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) at international exhibition Euronaval-2010. The Central Navy Portal managed to obtain the ship's design drawings and comments of an USC representative.

According to the expert, showing the frigate's export variant Russia tried to demonstrate capabilities of its shipbuilding industry, potential of Russian designers and armorers.

"We realize that it's a quite large warship, so there would unlikely be an array of orders", said the USC representative. "However, we should have brought this frigate to Euronaval to show our capabilities to design and build such ships; especially as the lead frigate was recently launched", he added.

We recall that Project 22356 multipurpose frigate is an export version of Project 22350. Lead ship of this project – frigate Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkov – was launched at Severnaya Verf shipyard on Oct 29, 2010.
