Tanker NS Spirit with Russian crew was attacked on Nov 22 at 1.49 am 30 miles off port of Lagos (Nigeria). Consequently, two crewmen suffered – the ship's cook got gunshot wound in belly, and the shipmaster broke his arm.

According to him, about ten armed men boarded the tanker with the view of robbery and opened fire from small arms. Sailors had to hide in the shelter. Shortly after the attack, pirates left the tanker.

All crewmembers on board are Russian citizens. The Liberian-flagged tanker was heading for Lagos to discharge 37,700 tons of gasoline.
