Svetlyak class patrol boat Triglav has arrived to Slovenian port Koper.
Delivery contract for Project 10412
Svetlyak patrol boat was signed on July 17, 2008 as a repayment of Soviet debt to former Yugoslavia which was somewhat $129 mln. The ship building cost was evaluated as $35 mln. Other $7.5 mln was paid by Slovenian defense ministry for delivered onboard tactical control system, arms and ammunition.
The boat was laid down in Sept 2008 at JSC
Almaz Shipyard (St. Petersburg). The launching and christening ceremony was held on July 21, 2010; the boat manned by Slovenian crew left St. Petersburg on Oct 9.
Extreme length of Project 10412 boat is 49.5 meters; beam is 9.2 meters; draft is 2.5 meters; full-load displacement is 375 tons. The boat's feature is main propulsion plant which consists of three diesel engines
MTU 4000 with power of 16,200 shp; that allows to accelerate up to 27 knots. Fuel range at 13 knots is 2,200 nautical miles, endurance is 10 days, crew is 24 men.
Armament includes two six-barreled 30-mm gun mounts
AK-306M, two 14.5-mm pedestal machineguns, missile system
Shturm, shipborne chuff launcher
PK-10. Up to 16 MANPADS
Igla launchers can be mounted on the boat as well. Standard equipment also includes decompression chamber and two inflatables.
The boat will join 430th squadron of Slovenian Navy which is engaged in patrolling of the Adriatic Sea. The vessel is also planned to be used in search-and-rescue, pollution control, and firefighting operations.
At present, 430th squadron is armed with one
Super Dvora MK-III class fast-speed patrol boat
Ankaran (HPL 21) built in Israel. The boat was commissioned into Slovenian Navy in 1996 and armed with two 20-mm guns and 7.62-mm machineguns.
Beginning from 1988, twenty six Project 10410
Svetlyak boats joined Soviet and then Russian Navy. In 2002 two
Svetlyak class patrol boats were delivered to Vietnamese Navy. Currently, two other vessels of this project are being constructed for Vietnam in St. Petersburg; they were ordered in 2009 as an addition to first two boats which had shown perfect performance. Besides, two vessels will be constructed by
Vostochnaya Verf shipyard, Vladivostok.
