Rosoboronexport will offer Amur-1650 submarine to participate in Indian Navy's tender for six non-nuclear subs. According to the company's press service, Rosoboronexport will certainly attend the tender with 4th generation diesel submarine Amur-1650.

India is about to purchase six non-nuclear subs, reports Pioneer. Indian Navy soon will issue a tender for submarines with conventional powerplant and request offers from the world's leading arms manufacturers.

Indian government has already approved plans of defense ministry to buy submarines. The forthcoming contract named Project-75I is evaluated as INR 500 bln (over $11 mln).

Indian Navy has already direct requests for submarines' technical characteristics to several countries. According to Pioneer, the greatest interest was shown by Russia, Germany, Spain, and France.

Amur-1650 was developed in Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering. Acoustic field rate of Amurs is many times lower than Project 877/636 diesel subs have.

Submarine Amur-1650 is armed with 6 torpedo tubes; test depth is 300 meters; endurance is 45 days; crew is 35 men.
