Chief of General Staff Gen. Nikolai Makarov will pay a working visit to India with the view to plan preparation activities for joint exercise INDRA-2011, reports press-service of Russian defense ministry.
The visit will last since Dec 7 till Dec 9.
"The visit program provides negotiations with Air Chief Marshal Pradeep Vasant Naik, Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, meetings with Admiral Nirmal Kumar Verma, Chief of the Indian Navy and General Vijay Kumar Singh, Chief of Army Staff", said the release.
Issues of military co-operation will be also discussed. In particular, the parties will exchange views on results of Russian-Indian exercise
INDRA-2010 and determine basic cooperation trends in preparation for
INDRA-2011 exercise, reports the defense ministry.
"Besides, it is planned that the head of Russian General Staff would visit the Russian-Indian defense-oriented joint venture
BrahMos Airspace Ltd., and inspect infrastructure, technical facilities, and organization of training process in 50th parachute brigade", said the ministry's press release.
