Russian defense ministry submitted to government arms procurement program for 2011-2020; amount of financing is over RUR 20 trillions, said Vice Premier Sergei Ivanov appearing at Wednesday's session of Russian military industrial commission.

"Ministry of Defense along with other state customers submitted to government a draft program on arms procurement for 2011-2020", said Ivanov.

He reminded that financing of this program would make over RUR 20 trillions.

Ivanov also said that the commission must present this program for presidential approval till the current year is over.

He pointed out that the new defense program will be financed three times as much as the current program actual for 2007-2015. Mostly, that money will be appropriated for purchase of modern arms for reformed armed forces, underlined Ivanov. He added that among state customers other than Ministry of Defense, FSB, and Ministry of Internal Affairs were EMERCOM, Federal Protection Service, Foreign Intelligence Agency, Federal Drugs Control Service, Federal Penitentiary Service, Federal Special Construction Agency and state-led corporation Rosatom.
