Russian citizen Vladimir Mashkov who was on board South Korean fishing vessel sunken yesterday in Antarctic has been rescued. Reportedly, Mashkov held the position of observer on board the trawler.

In total, there were 42 men aboard fishing vessel Insung No. 1 – eight Koreans, eight Chinese, eleven Indonesians, eleven Vietnamese, and three Filipinos. Five of them died.

The ship sank 2,700 km off New Zealand. Twenty men were rescued by another vessel; seventeen are reported missing.
