Introduction lesson on retraining program was given on Jan 14 in Severodvinsk Officers' Club to Northern Fleet (NF) officers expecting for naval discharge.

The agreement on training of naval officers in Murmansk branch of State Service Academy was signed on Dec 24 in St. Petersburg by NF Commander Admiral Nikolai Maksimov, head of Sberbank Northwest branch Alexander Govorunov, and president of the Northwest State Service Academy Alexander Gorshkov.

Professors of the academy developed an adapted retraining program for officers; retraining of first 30 men was financed by Sberbank.

This is the first large-scale socially-oriented project implemented jointly by the Northwest State Service Academy and Northwest branch of Sberbank under patronage cooperation with Northern Fleet which have been lasting for years now.

First trainees were selected among officers having experience of executive service in ships and headquarters. As for NF command, completing the retraining and acquiring specific knowledge, those officers could occupy prominent posts in the system of state and municipal agencies after retirement.

NF Commander Admiral Nikolai Maksimov attending the introduction lesson gave good words to officers. He expressed a strong belief that occupational retraining in the Northwest State Service Academy would be a stepping stone for further self-fulfillment of servicemen, and their working potentials would be effectively applied in different areas of public and business life for the good of Russia.
