and made at Izhora works. Project 636 is a series of 3rd generation diesel electric submarines, and a modification of Projects 877 and 877EKM known for their excellent performance characteristics. These subs are quite silent; they have state-of-the-art navigational facilities and communication systems, as well as powerful missile/torpedo armament. Test depth is 300 meters; endurance is 45 days; crew is 52 men.
