NITKA is used by Russia for training naval pilots. They trained there last year, too. Of course, the simulator will not be used for free... There's equipment which wears off and has to be repaired and maintained... Most of
NITKA's mechanisms were produced in St. Petersburg... We can not perform overhaul works for free, so this issue should be sponsored by the Russian party", said the minister.
It should be pointed out that
NITKA is the only Soviet simulator for deck based aviation which fell to Ukraine after the breakup of the USSR. Meanwhile, Ukraine has not own deck-based aviation.
Recall that Mikhail Yezhel previously offered to found a Russian-Ukrainian joint venture providing the use of
NITKA simulator system by Russian deck-based aviation.
