Black Sea Fleet (BSF) Command does not plan to dispatch warships to Libya, reported RIA Novosti referring to Capt 1 rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev, head of BSF Information Support Group. He underlined that large landing ships Caesar Kunikov and Yamal stay in Sevastopol and are not going to leave the Black Sea.

Some online sources reported yesterday referring to Russian diplomatic circles that two BSF large landing ships Caesar Kunikov and Yamal were about to head for Libya with marine units on board. The sources said each landing ship would carry at least 150 marines.

According to an interviewee, BSF large landing ship Caesar Kunikov is pending dock repair, so "will not participate in any operations within the next several weeks"; BSF large landing ship Yamal is being prepared for BLACKSEAFOR international naval exercise to be held in the Black Sea.
