Baltic Fleet (BF) destroyer Nastoichivy commanded by Capt 2 rank Sergei Chobitko celebrated 18th anniversary since hoisting of naval ensign.
Solemn ceremony related to the Ship's Day started with parade, hoisting of St. Andrew's flag and dressing lines. The ship's commanding officer issued a commendation order awarding distinguished crewmembers. Entertainment teams from Kaliningrad and Baltiysk gave a concert to the destroyer's crew.
BF destroyer Nastoichivy was commissioned into Russian Navy in 1993 and few months later became the first warship in Russian Navy's contemporary history passed through the Kiel Canal.
Nastoichivy repeatedly won Navy's prizes for firings and tactical exercises. In 1996 and 1997 the ship was recognized the best Russian surface ship.
In July 1996 the ship took part in the BALTOPS-96 international naval exercise. In Feb-Apr 1997 Nastoichivy carried out a long-range cruise, having covered 20,000 nautical miles.
BF destroyer Nastoichivy represented Russian Navy at festivities associated with 75th anniversary of South African Navy held in Cape Town and Simon's Town.
Through her service in Baltic Fleet, the destroyer has sailed over 70,000 nm; the ship's overall duration at sea is about 2 years. During the current year the ship's crew has successfully underwent three different inspections of Russian defense ministry.
Expecting the Victory Day Parade which is coming on May 9 in Kaliningrad, the BF flagship's crew delegates the ceremonial team to take part in parade along with other troops.
