Three foreign frigates and 36 Russian ships and boats will participate in the 5th International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2011) to be held since June 29 till July 3 in St. Petersburg, reported ITAR-TASS referring to Alexander Koloskov, deputy director general of JSC Maritime Show which is the exhibition's initiator.
"We have addressed invitations to 9 countries to delegate their warships. As of today, three of them agreed – French, German and Dutch navies will dispatch their guided missile frigates to attend IMDS-2011. Thus, there will be 3 foreign ships and 36 vessels of Russian Navy and FSB Frontier Service", informed Koloskov.
According to the exhibition's initiators, 90% of overall display area (14,000 sq meters) has been reserved by participants; over 330 companies have been already registered, including 36 foreign ones. Number of military-oriented companies is 68, civil ones - 60. Establishment of German, French, and Ukrainian national pavilions are being presently discussed. Ninety one countries were offered to send official delegations. Experts have formed the list of artillery systems and small arms to be shown at Rzhevka Range.
