Memorable activities were held today in Zaozersk naval base, Northern Fleet; that is just where
started her last cruise. Wreath-laying ceremony and a memorable meeting were also conducted at the monument to lost submariners. Priests of the Nicholas the Sanctifier's Church chanted a requiem for those who failed to surface.
At 17:08 which is when Komsomolets wrecked all Northern Fleet surface ships and submarines dipped the St. Andrew's Flag; naval servicemen honored their lost colleagues with the one-minute silence. All nuclear submarine divisions gave a one-minute tyfon signals.
Later on, information officers told young sailors the story about tragedy happened 22 years ago and the heroism of Soviet submariners done their duties at the expense of lives.
