Memorable activities over Chernobyl tragedy were held at Baltic Fleet 29.04.2011

A monument to liquidators of nuclear disasters was opened on Apr 26 in Kaliningrad, in the day of 25th anniversary of Chernobyl tragedy.

Memorable meeting was held in Baltic Fleet Officers' Club in honor of those who directly eliminated the damage caused by Chernobyl accident. Among attendants were participants of the tragedy, representatives of Baltic Fleet command and Kaliningrad city administration. Six Chernobyl veterans were awarded with medals "For Services to Kaliningrad Region".

Over 3,000 residents of Kaliningrad region took part in elimination of Chernobyl disaster; nowadays, only 1,560 of them live in the region.
