Commander of Russia's Eastern Military District Konstantin Sidenko left for North Korea (DPRK) on Aug 22 to discuss development of military and naval cooperation with local military authorities, said a spokesman for Russian defense ministry.
"The visit program includes meetings with North Korea's military officials and consultations related to resumption and further development of military and naval cooperation between the two countries, possible terms of Russian-North Korean humanitarian exercises, exchange of friendly visits between Russian and North Korean warships", he said.
Also, Russian military representatives and their North Korean counterparts will talk on possible land and naval search-and-rescue exercises.
The visit of Russian delegation to North Korea will last till Aug 26.
