Offshore ice-resistant fixed oil platform Prirazlomnaya which left 35th pier of Murmansk Ship-Repair Plant on Aug 18 has covered almost 540 miles in 8 days being assisted by 4 powerful tugs. Contrary to weather typical for the Barents Sea in this season, the wind speed did not exceed 5 mps; this helped the convoy to keep the average speed of 3 knots.

"The trip has finished according to plan, without any problems and incidents", said Deputy Director General of Sevmash shipyard Valery Borodin. "The 96-men team currently works on the platform. They've tested life-support systems and held drills. In the next three days the platform will be unfixed and placed on the site, and then the berm will be raised around. This operation will take 1.5 months", added Borodin.
