ASW Ship Severomorsk Completes Anti-Piracy Mission 14.09.2011

Northern Fleet (NF) large ASW ship Severomorsk headed by Capt 1 rank Andrei Klimenko is completing anti-piracy mission off the Horn of Africa.

The ship has finished escort of the last 11th convoy and laid a course for the Mediterranean Sea. Soon Pacific Fleet task unit will continue the mission.

On her homeward journey, Severomorsk will pay two formal calls at Syrian port Tartus and Spanish enclave Ceuta on African side of Gibraltar Strait in order to replenish supplies and let the crew have rest.

Throughout three months of the anti-piracy mission, NF large ASW ship Severomorsk has safely escorted 38 civil vessels under flags of different states. Some of escorted ships had Russian sailors on board.

NF main naval base Severomorsk will meet the crew of the same-named ship in the second half of October.
