Servicemen of armor battalion, Baltic Fleet (BF) Coast Defense Troops conducted firing drills on T-72 tanks at Armeiskoye Range.
During the exercise, tank crews performed march fire at disappearing and moving targets, and practiced fire by
NSVT Utes antiaircraft machineguns at low-altitude air targets.
Firings were held at various distances at the targets imitating "enemy" moving tank, antitank grenade-launching ambush, and non-recoil gun mount. Targets were placed at ranges up to 1,700 meters; fire distance at tank mean line was 700 meters.
The battalion commander Guard Lt Col Vitaly Rubtsov told that his subordinates had completed the last phase of crew-integration drills. What they have ahead are teamwork drills in platoons and companies. BF tankmen plan to conduct 2-3 firing drills a week.
Servicemen of BF tank battalion will demonstrate their fire accuracy at coming company tactical exercise at Dobrovolsky Range.
"At that tactical exercise we will practice joint actions with infantry battalion", said Vitaly Rubtsov. "Our task will be fire support of infantry unit".
