Crew of tanker Cape Bird captured by Nigerian pirates on Oct 8 has been released, reports RIA Novosti referring to Sergei Paniushkin, director of crewing agency Columbia contracted sailors for the tanker in Novorossiysk, Russia.

The ship was hijacked by pirates 70 nautical miles off Lagos, Nigeria. The crew consists of 20 sailors including 4 Russians.

"Crew was released in the night of Oct 14. Everyone feels well. Shipmaster said nobody needed medical aid", Paniushkin said.
