Visit of Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky to Netherlands started on March 7. The visit will last till March 9 and include meetings with Dutch defense minister Hans Hillen, Royal Netherlands Navy Commander Vice Admiral Matthieu Borsboom, and Russian Ambassador to Netherlands Roman Kolodkin.
The parties will discuss anti-piracy issues and further cooperation between navies of the two countries. ADM Vladimir Vysotsky will visit a Walrus-class diesel submarine, a Seven Provinces-class frigate, a Holland-class patrol ship, and will watch demonstration of Dutch marines, landing from helicopter Lynx, and demonstration flight of ASW helicopter NH-90.
Russian Navy Commander will be shown production capacities of Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding, Thales Netherlands, and Imtech. Admiral Vysotsky also plans to visit a Sigma-class frigate which is currently under construction.
