Construction works will start with earthing of a territory allocated for quays and workshops. In 2011, representatives of USC conducted all needed marking works and determined the shipyard's perimeter in the region granted by St. Petersburg government.
At present, legal implementation of new shipbuilding capacity in Kronshtadt and transfer of
shipyard's assets from St. Petersburg is being settled with new city administration.
According to preliminary estimates, actual spendings can be considerably decreased comparing to initially planned $2 bln. For one, in Feb 2012 defense ministry favorably resolved an issue on attachment of additional large land plot for the shipyard construction. This will help to reject inwashing about 70 hectares of soil, cut down labor intensity and save time. One of main problems is a concrete batching plant and private garden plots situated in the territory of the future shipyard. St. Petersburg administration promises to settle this problem before the beginning of large-scale works.
