Northern Fleet (NF) marine units and infantry brigade took part in debarkation drill along with the crew of NF large landing ship Georgy Pobedonosets.

Coast defense troops and the ship's crew practiced embarkation and landing of wheeled and armored vehicles all day long.

"Debarkation drills are regularly conducted before battalion tactical exercises. We're going to hold them in summer training period", explained NF Coast Defense Troops Commander Col. Andrei Guschin. "We will land personnel and armor on unprepared seashore", he added.

Standard time for embarkation of one vehicle on board ship is less than a minute. A military unit needs somewhat 10 minutes.

Such drills are held in order to teach marines actions at sea and landing on coast defended by enemy troops. Training process includes studying of landing ship design, practice of different embarkation/debarkation methods, navigation of amphibious craft, etc.

In total, about 400 servicemen and over 50 combat vehicles participated in the drills.
