BLACKSEAFOR Continues Joint Activities at Sea 18.04.2012

Ships of Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group (BLACKSEAFOR) left Sevastopol on Apr 17 after the 4-day visit and continued joint training activities at sea.

Right after departure, BLACKSEAFOR ships practiced repelling of a small-size surface target's attack and a minesweeper escorting. In accordance with schedule, today the participants carried out a man-rescue and communication drills.

Through the next three days, the joint task group led by Russian party will conduct a number of training activities. It is planned to involve Russia's Black Sea Fleet aircraft in the coming air defense exercise.

Spring activation of BLACKSEAFOR task group started on Apr 6 in Constanta, Romania. It is attended by warships of Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Russian large landing ship Caesar Kunikov is the task group's flagship.
