Keel laying of the fourth Project 21980 counter-terror boat will take place at Zelenodolsk Shipyard on May 5, 2012.

The ensign-hoisting ceremony will soon be held on the second Grachonok-class special purpose boat in Novorossiysk Naval Base. The boat was laid down on May 7, 2010, put afloat in July 2011, and dispatched for acceptance trials to Novorossiysk in the fall.

Lead boat P-104 has been serving in harbor defense unit of Leningrad Naval Base since 2009. The boat took part in the International Maritime Defense Show 2011 held in St. Petersburg.

Main purpose of Grachonok-class boats is countering terrorist and sabotage forces in basing sites of Russian Navy. The project developer is JSC Vympel Design Bureau (Nizhniy Novgorod). Up-to-date equipment and perfect seaworthiness allow these boats to cope with wide range of tasks.

At present, Zelenodolsk Shipyard is constructing third boat of that project.
