Two Northern Fleet (NF) Naval Aviation officers are suspected of active participation in Murmansk branch of the banned National Bolshevist Party (NBP). In this context, NF Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case in accordance with Article 282.2/2, RF Criminal Code (participation in a public association banned by court due to extremist activities), reported a source in NF Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, two officers serving in NF Naval Aviation since 2011 were taking an active part in the Another Russia public organization and kept in touch with leaders and activists of interregional public organization National Bolshevist Party. The court found NBP an extremist organization and banned its activities. Guilt of the officers is aggravated by the fact that Russian military servicemen are not allowed to be members of any political associations.

Investigators searched apartments of one of the officers and found books of Eduard V. Limonov, NBP newspaper Limonka, and various extremist attributes like flags, booklets, agitation posters, etc. Personal computer of another officer contained on-line versions of Limonka and his articles published in newspapers mentioned in the Federal List of Extremist Materials.

Currently, persons whose evidence is needed to reveal all circumstances are being searched and questioned.

Recall that National Bolshevist Party was recognized extremist organization by Moscow City Court in Apr 2007 in accordance with the Federal Counter-Extremism Act (Articles 7 and 9). The party's activity is prohibited in the territory of the Russian Federation. In Aug 2007, the Supreme Court confirmed the ban on NBP.

Reporter of Central Navy Portal contacted the leader of Another Russia Eduard Limonov and asked him to comment the incident.

"Indeed, I've read those news on the net", Limonov said. "I can say investigators are hunting witches! Newspaper Limonka was closed by the court decision in 2002, National Bolshevist Party ceased to exist in 2007, so all newspapers, leaflets and flags found are nothing more than a history. Speaking of Another Russia, although it is non-registered party, due to active legislation we have a right to go into politics except for parliamentary elections", ended Limonov.
