Caspian Flotilla Rescuers to Attend Caspy-2012 Joint Exercise 29.06.2012

Caspian Flotilla (CF) rescue ships and boats will take part in the Caspy-2012 international sea accident recovery exercise to take place in the north Caspian Sea early in July under direction of Astrakhan Rescue Coordination Center.

Interaction between CF command and representatives of Russian and Kazakhstan rescue services in rescuing of distressed crews and aircrews will be practiced during the exercise. Observers from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Iran will also take part in the exercise.

Russian naval rescuers will train in search and rescue of people at sea, taking them aboard a rescue ship and rendering them first aid, firefighting activities on a damaged ship, and oil spill response at high sea.

Also, CF divers will practice examination of damaged underwater objects and facilities in emergency zones.

The exercise will last two days.
