Commanding officer of training ship Perekop is in hospital suffering hypertensive crisis; on July 31 an incident occurred onboard the ship and led to death of one sailor and injuries of four his service mates, reports NEWSru.com referring to RIA Novosti.

According to sources of the agency, Capt 2 Rank Sergei Bor is currently in preinfarction state.

One theory is that the sailors got up to the deck during the gun firing drill to take pictures for discharge album (one of them had 2 months left to discharge).

Eventually, four sailors were wounded by shell fragments, the fifth one died. It was 20-year old Nikita Mitrofanov conscripted in Apr 2012 from Volkhov, Leningrad region.

After that, a criminal case was initiated against the ship's commanding officer in accordance with Article 349, RF Criminal Code (violation of arms handling rules posing serious hazard to people), maximum imprisonment term is 5 years.

However, some other persons can also face trial, writes NEWSru.com. There is another theory that the shell veered away from dummy mine and hit the ship's deck erection next to the sailors.
