Part of private business in placing of defense orders will grow, even after corporatization of state companies, reports RIA Novosti citing Russian vice premier Dmitry Rogozin.

As for him, "private business does exist in Russian defense industry, and we're going to expand this sector", reports the news agency.

Rogozin reminded that president Putin had earlier backed setting up a public-private partnership council at the governmental committee for defense industry. The council will convene in Sept 2012 for the first time.

The vice premier said that "in the first session we will consider what conditions should be offered to private entrepreneurs to make them full-fledged participants of the state arms procurement program", reports RIA Novosti.

Speaking on the arms import issue, Rogozin reiterated that "Russia will not purchase large lots of foreign-made armored vehicles. We just need samples to understand what is what and find advantages. Indeed, certain cooperation is possible, but this will regard only to single systems where we have some technological gaps", noted the news agency.

Dmitry Rogozin stressed that "nobody in the West would sell us the most advanced warlike equipment even amid economic crisis".
