Corvette Dagestan which suffered damage during gale in Novorossiysk in Nov 2011 will be commissioned into Caspian Flotilla in Sept 2012, reports Izvestiya referring to Caspian Flotilla HQ.

According to press service of Zelenodolsk Shipyard, repair was performed at the company's cost since the ship had not been accepted by the Navy at that time.

The shipyard's spokesman said that "it was decided to eliminate damages at own expense. Otherwise, that process could be protracted; we'd have to evaluate the damage, revise the contract cost, and approve it with the Navy command".

As a result of repairs held by the shipyard's experts in Novorossiysk, damaged side plates were replaced and frame ribs in dent areas were reinforced, write Izvestiya.
