Northern Fleet (NF) helicopter pilots rescued a local of Murmansk fishing on a lake nearby Teriberka. Having received distress info from an EMERCOM dispatcher that a fisherman stuck in tundra was in need of hospitalization, a NF search-and-rescue helicopter was sent to render assistance.

Aircrew of Ka-27PS helicopter headed by NF airbase deputy commander Col. Valery Vihirev coped with the task effectively. Pilots promptly found the fisherman and took him aboard.

The evacuation took about 30 minutes, then the chopper landed on Severomorsk-3 airfield, and the sufferer was brought to Murmansk regional hospital by ambulance car.

That was not the first time when aircrews of Northern Fleet rendered help to civilians. For one, in Nov 2011 a NF rescue helicopter brought ashore a sailor from distressed refrigerator ship Bereg Nadezhdy, and the crew of antisubmarine airplane Il-38 successfully carried out search operation of cargo ship Kapitan Kuznetsov lost in the White Sea. In Apr 2012, NF helicopter pilots evacuated a heavily sick sailor from civil ship M-0124 Ametist.
