Delegation of young Norwegian officers on Sept 18 arrived at Russian Navy's Northern Fleet (NF). First item on the visit agenda was NF Marine Regiment. Norwegian servicemen familiarized with everyday life of Russian marines, educational facilities, and combat training process of 'black berets'.

In addition, Norwegian officers will visit Severomorsk, landing ship Alexander Otrakovsky, destroyer Severomorsk, and NF training center. The guests will practice navigation on the unique simulator Mostik and "pass" the Suez Canal and the Gibraltar Strait.

All officers of the delegation represent different branches of Norwegian armed forces. They are candidates for appointment to higher posts.

That is the first visit of Norwegian officers to Northern Fleet. It became possible thanks to agreement on cooperation development tied between NF command and Norway's main operational command.

It is planned that in the next year young naval officers of Northern Fleet would pay a reciprocal visit to Norwegian warships and coastal military units.
