Pacific Fleet (PF) ship Marshall Krylov headed by Capt 1 Rank Igor Shalyny took the sea to perform intended tasks.

Marshall Krylov is unique ship of this class in Russian Navy. It performs tasks maintaining flight development tests of new space and missile equipment (spacecraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, booster missiles, etc). Being over 200-meters long and having a 350-men complement, Marshall Krylov is capable has max speed of 22 knots. The ship is capable to accommodate two Ka-27 search-and-rescue helicopters.

The ship turned 25 on July 24, 2012. In order to keep all onboard systems operable, the ship has passed long-term dock repair in Vladivostok. After that, Marshall Krylov successfully underwent sea trials in the Amur Bay. According to Igor Shalyny, qualification level of the crew will be tested at sea.

As of today, Project 1914.1 measurement ship Marshall Krylov is one of the largest and most equipped ships in Russian Navy. She comprises all latest achievements of Russian scientists and designers.
