When staying at Greek port Piraeus, crew of Black Sea Fleet (BSF) landing ship Novocherkassk replenished fuel and water supplies, and took part in the Russia-Greece official and cultural activities.
BSF mariners paid honors to compatriots at the Russian cemetery Anastasios. Russian naval officers and sailors who lived and died in Greece after the Russia's Civil War are buried there.
Chaplain of Russian Orthodox Church father Alexander did a memorial service to Russian sailors killed and died in Greece.
Greek naval servicemen, public figures headed by vice mayor of Piraeus, representatives of Russian defense attaché's office, and the ship's commanding officers laid wreaths to a monument to Russian sailors. BSF naval band played Russian national anthem, and a marine unit paraded near the monument.
BSF naval band gave a concert at the central square of Piraeus. Kids of Russian diplomats residing in Greece visited the landing ship; the crew had coach tours to Athens.
