Northern Fleet (NF) submariners on Nov 18 rescued the crew of fishing ship Rybachiy heading from Liinahamari for Teriberka.

The submariners took sailors ship aboard in severe weather conditions, strong wind, sea disturbance and low visibility. Rybachiy sank after a while; nobody suffered in the accident.

It is not the first time when NF naval mariners render assistance to people in distress. In Nov 2011, a NF rescue helicopter brought ashore a sailor from distressed refrigerator ship Bereg Nadezhdy, and the crew of antisubmarine airplane Il-38 successfully carried out search operation of cargo ship Kapitan Kuznetsov lost in the White Sea. In Apr 2012, NF helicopter pilots evacuated a heavily sick sailor from civil ship M-0124 Ametist. In Sept 2012, aircrew of Ka-27 rescue helicopter helped a local who was fishing on a lake and needed urgent medical aid.
