Crew of Northern Fleet (NF) nuclear-powered submarine Daniil Moskovsky safely brought ashore sailors rescued from fishing ship Rybachiy sunken in distress in the Barents Sea.

On Nov 18, the submariners rescued the crew of fishing ship Rybachiy heading from Liinahamari for Teriberka. Being informed that a civil ship was immobilized in the Barents Sea with seawater getting inside, crew of nuclear-powered submarine Daniil Moskovsky performing scheduled combat training tasks nearby the accident site entered upon the rescue operation.

The sub's crew took sailors aboard in severe weather conditions, i.e. strong wind, sea disturbance and low visibility; Rybachiy sank after a while. When the rescue operation was over, SSBN Daniil Moskovsky set a course for the basing site. Nobody suffered in the accident; health status of the fishermen causes no misgiving. The sailors will be brought to Murmansk soon.
