Russian defense ministry will spend almost RUR 6.8 mln for presentation films about different military units. The ministry has already posted appropriate specifications on the website of state procurements.
According to project documentation, the films must inform about positive manning experience in Land Force, Airborne Troops, Strategic Missile Force, Electronic Warfare Troops, and the Navy.
The films must contain location shooting of daily military life including demonstration of combat training, information on the history and purpose of military units, and interviews with servicemen. As was emphasized, the films must be based on the open sources and contain neither state secrets nor confidential information.
Time duration of every film must be 12 minutes. In total, defense ministry expects to receive 22 sets of 300 DVD in each by Dec 20, 2012. The tender will be held on Dec 10.
As was reported earlier, Russian military plans to increase number of contract servicemen up to 425,000 by 2017. It makes almost half of overall manpower of Russian armed forces.
On Thursday, Nov 22, chairman of Russian parliament's defense committee Vladimir Komoyedov proposed to extend term of service for draftees up to 1.5 years. In its turn, the Kremlin is not about to change conscription rules.
