Teaching staff, students of Northern Fleet Institute receive prestigious awards

The teaching staff and students of the Baltic Naval Institute named after F.F. Ushakov were amongst the recipients of the prestigious awards of the Russian Defense Ministry and other nongovernmental organizations.

For excellence in teaching, Captain First Class Vladimir Bodrenkov and the head of the department of Physics and General Technical Sciences Andrei Makarov received the annual prize of the Russian Defense Ministry. Amongst students, Petty Officer Second Class Alexander Lavrentiev and student Vitalyi Lichik were awarded.

In addition, Petty officer Second Class Pavel Vankov and student Anton Gusarov won the scholarships provided by the Vladimir Potanin nongovernmental organization.

A good tradition of awarding academic excellence by the regional authorities has taken root in this capital city of the amber region. In 2008, the winners of the award of the city of Kaliningrad were Petty Officer Fist Class Igor Makarov, students Stanislav Koval, and Ilya Konoplev.

The command of the Northern Fleet, the management and teaching staff of the Northern Fleet’s Institute have acknowledged the importance of the measures being taken by the Defense Ministry to encourage high standards at military schools as creating the necessary atmosphere for increasing the quality of education at those schools.
