An expanded meeting of the committee of WWII and Russian Navy veterans from the Kaliningrad region took place at the club of the veterans of the Russian Baltic Fleet.
Addressing the meeting, the chairman of the committee, Vice Admiral (Ret) Alexander Brazhnik summed up the results of work with youths in military-patriotic education.
In addition, the veterans addressed questions related to the restoration of the monument to the fast boat sailors in Kalingrad, and how the local media covers the activities of the committee.
Representatives of the Baltic Fleet, colonels Yuri Bargan and Yuri Shevchenko, shed light on certain aspects of the Russian law regarding compensation for servicemen and veterans, as well as civilians working for the Fleet. They also talked about what the Fleet is doing to improve the social welfare of servicemen in the reserve.
The committee also decided that the union of veterans of Russian Fleets should join the All-Russian Organization of Veterans of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The command and the Military Council of the Baltic Fleet pay a great deal of attention to the work of war veterans and those of the Navy. They number more than 7,500 in the region.
