Black Sea Fleet warships out at sea to practice course exercises

04.03.2009
The flagship of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, the guard missile cruiser Moskva, and the missile hovercraft Bora under the flags of their division commanders went out to sea on March 3 to practice K-2 coursework exercises.

The Moskva practiced some of the exercises in the framework of the coursework during its mission in the Mediterranean. Sailors then destroyed a floating mine and fired from small-caliber air-defense artillery at airborne targets.

In the first half of the day, the Moskva practiced piloting ships behind sweeps. The ship will also practice firing at airborne targets. Initial plans were to use air-defense missile complexes and then a 130-millimeter artillery installation.

The Bora also performed firing form the Osa antiaircraft guided missile system and used an artillery installation.
