Moscow postpones moving of Navy headquarters

22.06.2009
The planned moving of the Russian Navy headquarters from Moscow to St. Petersburg is likely to be delayed because of the economic crisis, Navy Head Commander Vladimir Vysotsky said on Friday.

Admiral Vysotsky still maintained that, despite the delay, the headquarters will be moved as planned. He admitted however that the moving of the headquarters from one city to another is "a very complicated process", Newsru.com reports with reference to RIA Novosti.

The moving plans of the Navy headquarters have been met by massive criticism by a number of high-ranking Navy officials.
