Sabotage behind Bulava failure?

20.07.2009
Russian security services do not exclude that the Bulava missile have been subject to sabotage, RIA Novosti reports.

-A defect detail could end up in the missile because of a lack of efficient quality control from the manufacturers' side, or in the assembly process, a source in the Russian security services says to RIA Novosti.

Negligence in the production cycle can be considered equal to sabotage, the source adds.

He also indicates that competing Russian missile developers could be responsible for sabotage. Competition between developers of solid fuel rockets and fluid-fuel rockets is hard and "they have no scruples as use of methods is concerned", he adds.
