Russian design bureaus in cooperation with Norwegian engineering companies will create new Russian fishing fleet – the head of Rosrybolovstvo

10.09.2009
Russian design bureaus in cooperation with Norwegian engineering companies will develop and build new Russian fishing fleet on Russian shipyards. This was said by Andrei Krainy, the head of Rosrybolovstvo at IV International Congress of Fishermen opened today in Vladivostok.

As to his words, "Russian fishing fleet is hopelessly growing obsolete, and if the prompt actions are not taken, by 2015 Russia without a new fleet will obtain 1 mln t of marine products less than it does presently", informs ITAR-TASS.

"Renovation of Russian fishing fleet will be carried out on a large scale", A.Krainy said. "Only for Far East we need about 200 new fishing heavy-tonnage vessels", he added.

The head of Rosrybolovstvo thinks that "when discussing Federal program of native fishery development even in conditions of economic crisis, there will be not budgetary funds sequestration but even increase of budgetary funds appropriation in 3-4 times". The expert specified that as to his sources, "20-30 bln rub will be appropriated for construction of new fishing fleet".

?.Krainy stressed the point that "most likely, the new fishing fleet will be basically constructed at the expense of federal budget and leased to fishing companies on account of allocated quotas income".
