Far Eastern super shipyard to be based on Navy Yard 30

The unique Russian shipyard specialized in production of drilling plates and drill outfit will be established on the facilities of shipyard at Dunai Harbor (Fokino).

Corresponding agreement was signed between United Shipbuilding Corporation and China-Singapore concern. That was said by Sergei Darkin, Governor of Primorsk Region at press conference, reports RIA PrimaMedia.

Visiting China, Russian officials signed important agreements including those of creation one of the world's largest shipyards producing oil platforms. According to the governor, it is supposed to be located at "problematic" Shipyard 30 at Dunai Harbor near restricted administrative and territorial entity Fokino. Few months ago it was shut down due to salary debts. Then the problem was settled by Pacific Fleet Military Procuracy. And now the shipyard is on new whorl of evolution. It is planned to build drilling plates, supertankers and liquified gas carriers.

"Another great issue is new jobs for our youngsters. Future graduates of higher institutions, colleges and technical schools will obtain long-term steady jobs at these state-of-the-art shipyards combining all ship-repair plants of the Far East", specified the governor.

We recall that building of shipyard is scheduled to be launched in March 2010. Russian and China-Singapore investments are provided. Russian party is represented by branch of United Shipbuilding Corporation – Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center, founded early this year by assistance of Governor of Primorsk Region Sergei Darkin. It comprises ten shipyards and scientific agencies, over 15 000 employees are involved.
